There is only one God.

God made the entire universe.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (The Bible: Genesis chapter 1: verse 1)

In the Bible states:

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” (Psalm 19: verse 1)

In other words, creation talks.

When you see the sun, moon and stars – they are all created by God.  Creation tells us something about what God is like. Just as a painting reveals something about the soul of the artist or a sonnet reveals the heart of a poet, so creation discloses something of the essential nature of God.

Consider this:

Whatever we see that has power, God has more.

Whatever we see that is good or lovely, God is better and lovelier.

Wherever we see creativity, we know it started with God.

The Bible states: “God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.” (Romans chapter 1: verse 20)

But God has given us more than creation to tell us about Himself.  He has spoken to humanity and given us his written Word called “the Bible”.

God created humanity.  People are His creation.  God wants us to behave correctly, but sadly people do not always behave right.  Sometimes they do bad things.

God calls this “sin”.

Sin is breaking a law. If you break an important law in any country, you have to be punished if you are caught.  If criminals do not get punished, then people get upset.  A bad country lets criminals go free.  A good country will punish the criminals.  We call this “Justice”.

God created justice.  He loves perfect justice.  Not too harsh, not too soft.

But God also loves forgiveness too.  He loves to forgive people who are sorry.  We call this “repentance.”

God gave us laws – in our conscience we know that some things are good and some things are bad.  When we break His commandments – that requires punishment.

That is the bad news.  But there is the good news.

We are guilty of breaking God’s law.  We have sinned.  We deserve punishment.  (Bad news)

BUT – (Good news) God’s law allows a substitute to take our place.

God came to visit humanity and put on a human body.  That was Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to Israel.  He came to the Jewish people.

God told the Jewish people what to look for in the Messiah centuries before it happened.  We call this Prophecy.  That is how we know Jesus Christ is from God.  God told Israel what to look for years before it happened.  Jesus fulfills those promises.

Jesus was God visiting Israel in human form.  He came for the purpose to be our substitute.  That is why Jesus came to earth.  To take away our sins if we trust in Him.

“God made him who had no sin – to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 21)

That verse from the Bible explains things.  Jesus never sinned.  But He took our place and said I will be punished for their sins.  And as a result – we are made righteous.  Why?  Because we no longer have our sins on us.  We give them to Jesus.

He was beaten to a bloody mess.  He was whipped and had nails put into His hands and feet.  He was punished on the cross like he did every bad thing – so that we might be forgiven.  So that we might take our sins and give them away to Jesus.

He took our place so that we might have no more guilt.

If we accept Jesus – then we give Him our sins.  We desire to do no more sins.

He does not need to pay for them again, because He already did.

Yes. We adults are all guilty of doing bad at some point in time.  We are all guilty.

“…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  (Bible book of Romans chapter 3 verse 23)

The Bible says that we only live once on this earth

Then at the end of time, every human will stand before God’s throne and be judged.

Those who have sinned are guilty – the Bible says they will “perish”.

But God does not wish for anyone to perish.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  (John chapter 3 verse 16)

God loves YOU so much that He sent Jesus Christ so that we can give away to Him – all of our sins.

He was already punished for them on the cross 2,000 years ago.

Jesus died on the cross 2,000 years ago.

But He did not stay dead.  After 3 days – He came back to life!  We call this His “Resurrection”!  He was raised back from the dead in a glorious way.

Those who were there saw him again – He was definitely alive again.

Completely dead for three days, then made alive again in a glorious body.  And still alive today.  He never will die again.

This is what the Bible says:

Matthew chapter 28

“After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.  His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.  The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

My friend –

Jesus is still alive today.  He hears us when we pray.  Prayer is talking to God.

You can, today, accept Jesus Christ into your heart and be forgiven.  You can have your sins removed.

For those who have accepted Jesus Christ into their heart, their sins are removed.  So when they stand before God – there is nothing bad to judge.  The sins have been removed, taken away.

They are clean.

They are made whole.

They will gain heaven.

Everlasting life.

Never to die again, like Jesus.

DO YOU WISH THIS?

If you wish this forgiveness.  If you know that you have sinned and want to turn from sin.  If you wish Jesus to come into your heart and make you 100% forgiven and ready for heaven – then pray this prayer with your lips and heart:

“God in heaven, I have sinned in my life.  I am sorry.

Jesus, I thank you that you died on the cross for my sins.  I give to you all of my sins.

Enter into my heart.  Make me clean.  I want you to be with me forever.  I trust in You. Amen.”

If you have trusted in Jesus Christ and meant it – then you are now a Christian.  A follower of Jesus.

You should eventually do several things:

1) You should talk to God every day.  This is called “prayer”

You don’t need to be in a specific place to pray.  You can pray anywhere!  God hears you.  His ear is open 24 hours a day.  Pray for help, pray for your friends, pray for your family, pray for whatever is on your heart.

2) You should read the Bible

This is how we get to know God.  Four men wrote down the life of Jesus.  They are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

You can find them here in the Bible. https://www.o-bible.com/bbe.html

I would also be good to read a little bit of the book of Psalms each day.

https://www.o-bible.com/cgibin/ob.cgi?version=bbe&book=psm&chapter=1

3) Find other Christians in your area – if possible, go to Church

I know that many times this may not be possible.  There may not be other Christians in your area.  Then pray and ask God to send you some.  If not – then maybe you can watch Christians worship videos like the ones at the top of this webpage.

4) You should be baptized.

Baptism is an outward sign to people that you follow Jesus.  You go into the water and are buried and immediately come back up – like a resurrection.  A new life.  Again, I realize this may not be possible for everyone, so pray and ask God when and where you can be baptized.
